GAMEKEEPER'S
LODGE -
An exposition in the authentic, natural surroundings represents one
of the greatest and best known P.O.Hviezdoslav`s
works - lyric-epic composition Hájnikova ena (Woodman`s
wife). Pavol Országh Hviezdoslav was the great Slovak
poet. His working in Upper Orava near the mountains, with the contact
with the simple people in the beatiful and peaceful country, was his
the most prolific period. A lot of his the most important and the most
remarkable works were created here, the best known work was Hájnikova
ena(Woodman`s wife). It is work about the conflict of the two worlds
- of the cottages and manor houses, the truth of the poverty and wrong
of the noblemen. All the exposition and the Woodman`s house are situated
in the middle of the beautiful nature in the surrounding country. Near
the garden flows the brook, we can even see the walls of the old mill.
In the hall we can find the exhibition of the people`s dress, the exhibition
of the artistic decoration and the exhibition of the hunting`s world.
We can feel in it the hunter`s desire of one of the main character Artu
Viláni, who wants to owe everything. The first room is the reconstruction
of the original housing equipment of the źachov family - the furniture
made by hand, a lot of accessories evoking the Woodman`s wife, as if
she only ran away for a while - undressed skirt, bread and knife on
the table.... In the second room, there are situated the things by the
help of which the work was created. The Writer`s working place with
a few pieces of the simple furniture, especially working table on which
the copies of the original handwriting are. On the coat-hanger, there
is the Writer`s original dress. In the central room with the original
mantelpieces of the kitchen, there is a stylized look at the Martin`s
life, at the surrounding and institutions, which participated in publishing
the Writer`s work.
